Serious fly fishermen know that Montana is where you go for wild trout—period. Much of the country these days relies on hatchery-raised fish, but our region is the last stronghold of truly wild trout, thanks to its pristine waterways. Yellowstone Club has a private fork of the legendary Gallatin River right on-property, where a healthy population of cutthroat trout (the West’s only true native trout), are always waiting to pounce on a well-presented fly.

Just down the road is the mainstem of the Gallatin, not to mention a veritable spider web of Blue-Ribbon fisheries including the world-renown Madison and Yellowstone rivers. Even more choices are within a day’s drive, including the Ruby, Henry’s Fork, Beaverhead, Big Hole, Missouri, and streams in Yellowstone Park.

Whether you’ve never touched a fly rod or are a seasoned veteran, you may want to hire one of the Club’s professional guides to spend the day with you. Instruction for every skill level, and guided options from half-day on-property wading trips, to full-day float trips on one of the area’s many fabled trout rivers, are available. The Club also has rods, reels, waders and all the gear you might need, or you can choose to use your own.

If you love fly fishing, or would like to try it, Yellowstone Club has everything you need to get you out on the water.
